Thailand Tourist Visa Requirements(for visiting relative or friend in Thailand)

Required documents from the applicant

• Passport with minimum six months validity from the date of travel
• Passport must have minimum two blan pages
• Enclose copy of the first and last data pages of the passport   
• Two Visa form duly filled and signed by the applicant (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Byx79pvOpO1eTUdVSFRuNHRaSTA/edit?usp=sharing)
• Two or three Photos (see the detailed photo specification below )
• Taken against a white background
• Without border
• Glossy or semi-matt finish
• Size of the photo (35 X 45 mm).
• Not older than three months
• A visa requisition letter from the traveler (ensure following information available in covering letter) (See a sample tourist visa covering letter)
• It should be addressed to” The visa officer The Royal Thai Consulate General-Chennai"
• Purpose of the travel, duration of the stay , stay address
• Confirmed onward and return air ticket
• Financial documents-if not available provide sponsor documents
• Bank statements of last three months
• or
• Credit card copy with statement.
• or 
• Foreign exchange purchase proof .ie. receipt for minimum 700 USD per person
• Leave approval letter  from the employer(Private and Government)–if employed.
• Address proof –if the passport issued in different location rather than where u apply for a visa

Required documents from the invitee or host 

• An invitation letter with all details of the travel, guest and addressed to ” The visa officer The Royal Thai Consulate General-Chennai"( Please ensure following requirements meets a invitation (See the sample format of the tourist visa invitation)
• Specify the applicant Name, passport no, duration of visit and purpose of travel,
• Contact address, Number  and email address  of the invitee
• Copy of the passport 
• Copy of the visa and resident permit (if the invitee is not a Thailand national)
• Copy of the bank statement with sufficient fund (if sponsoring the travel)
• Proof of relationship (e.g.: copy of marriage certificate, If spouse visiting husband)
• Proof of accommodation in Thailand example ; rental agreement -if host is staying in a rented  house or council tax papers -if staying in own house

 Above listed documents are not a final, Embassy / Consulate may ask additional documents 
 Personal appearance may be required at theEmbassy / Consulate as per the discretion of the visa officer
