Process Overview

Step 1: Scheduling appointment with VFS (French visa application centre) for documents submission
Step 2: On the day of submission VFS will given an interview appointment with the office of the Consulate General of France for the next working day.
Step3 : The interview appointment is for completing the process of biometrics. It is a MUST for every applicant to visit the Consulate office in person. If your application is complete, processed passports can be collected from the Consulate office on completion of the biometric process.

Required documents from the applicant

The passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the intended duration of stay in the Schengen territory.
The passport should contains at least one double blank page reserved for visa stamping .
One photocopy of the first and last two pages of the passport and photocopies of valid visa are required
Old passport or passports –if applicable

One visa application Form(Down load form) duly filled and signed by the applicant
Two or three Photos (see the detailed photo specification below )

A visa requisition letter from the traveller (ensure following information available in covering letter

It should be addressed to
” The visa officer, Embassy/Consulate General of France, New Delhi/Mumbai/Bangalore/Kolkota
Purpose of the travel
Duration of the stay in each location
Complete address and contact number of the applicant.

Accommodation proof for the entire duration of stay(e.g.Hotel Voucher)
Copy of confirmed airline reservation for onward and return trip e.g. reservation slip.
Original Overseas medical insurance valid for all Schengen-countries with a minimum coverage of 30,000 EURO. The insurance has to cover all risk e.g. accident, illness, etc.
Bank statements of last three months including address & telephone number of the bank-with sufficient fund
Copy of the credit card or Foreign exchange purchase receipt or travellers cheques
Income Tax Returns for last three years with its photocopy.
Salary slip for the last three months- if employed
Leave approval letter from the employer –if employed (NOC –if the applicant is employed in Govt organisation)
If you are self-employed;

Income tax return for last three (3) years
Authority letter for Agent submission.
If a minor travelling alone -A no objection certificate should be produced by both parents
If a minor accompanied by one parent -A no objection certificate by the other parent.
If students travelling - a permission letter from school/college, including phone numbers and address, confirming the leave for specified period of travel
NOC from the spouse –if the spouse not accompanying
Address proof –if the passport issued in different location rather than where u apply for a visa
